Comparing Best (Best Licensed Moneylender Pte Ltd) with 1AP Capital? Start with the rate you are actually offered in writing, what reaches your account and how much you would repay. A review about friendly staff cannot answer those questions for you.
Best's personal-loan page advertises rates from 1.01% per month (12.12% p.a.) for eligible applicants, subject to assessment.[12] The published rate statement does not say who qualifies for that starting rate. Ask at assessment whether it applies to you and, if not, what rate would. Best can explain the proposed repayment before you decide; a review or calculator result is not your offer.[2]
Important: Best Licensed Moneylender Pte Ltd publishes this article and is one of the lenders compared. This is not an independent review. Best's published rate was rechecked on 29 September 2026; other lender and Ministry of Law source captures are dated 28 September 2026. Any customer comments mentioned are selected material displayed by lenders, not an independent or representative review audit. This is general information, not a personal recommendation or a promise of approval.
Best may suit you if you want the team to explain the costs and repayment schedule before you sign. Best publishes that process, and selected comments displayed on its site mention clear explanations and helpful staff.[2] Bring the amount you need and ask Best to show what you would receive, each due date and the total repayment.
1AP Capital may be easier to visit if its Tanjong Pagar office and published later weekday or Saturday closing fit your route.[1][5] But convenience and displayed customer comments do not establish a lower cost. Get its written offer for the same amount and period, then compare it with Best's.
It is tempting to begin with reviews or a sample monthly payment. Begin instead with the amount you need to receive and a monthly repayment you could manage after essentials. Ask each lender to put these terms in writing:
the principal and any permitted upfront fee;
the net amount paid to you;
the approved interest rate and repayment period;
every instalment, due date and total amount repayable; and
what happens if you pay late.
A smaller instalment over a longer period does not necessarily mean a cheaper loan. The Ministry of Law advises borrowers to compare lenders and understand the schedule, interest and fees before signing.[10]
Best advertises from 1.01% per month (12.12% p.a.) for eligible applicants. The actual rate and terms depend on the assessment.[12] Ask Best to explain the proposed rate, any permitted fee and the full repayment schedule for your application before you decide. The advertised starting rate is not an approved quote.
1AP Capital's website shows repayment examples using an assumed 24% APR and says an individual APR is presented at the end of an application.[3] That assumed example does not establish 1AP Capital's lowest or typical offer; Best's advertised starting rate is for applicants who qualify. Neither number tells you what either lender would charge you. Ask both for assessed written terms for the same amount and repayment period, including the amount paid out and total repayable.
The Ministry of Law's legal interest limit is a cap, not the rate either lender would quote you.[10] If the assessed Best terms work better for you, you will be able to see why in the written numbers. If they do not fit your budget, do not borrow on the strength of a headline rate.
You may understand the monthly instalment but still wonder why less money reaches you than the principal on the agreement, or when the first payment is due. Ask Best to walk through those figures with your proposed loan in front of you. Best says it explains costs and the repayment schedule before signing.[2]
Selected comments displayed on Best's site describe clear explanations and helpful service.[2] 1AP Capital also displays selected comments about staff explaining terms clearly.[4] Those comments do not verify the experience you will have. The useful test is whether you understand your own proposed contract and can ask about anything that is unclear. The Ministry of Law says a lender must explain the terms in a language you understand and give you a copy of the contract.[10]
A positive review may make it easier to start a conversation. It cannot tell you your approved rate, the fee you might pay or whether an instalment will fit your pay cycle. Both lenders display selected customer comments on pages they control; we have not independently audited the underlying reviews or established that they represent every borrower.[2][4]
If a review praises a clear explanation, ask each lender for the figures behind your own offer. Someone else's experience cannot establish what you would receive and repay.
The Registry dated 1 September 2026 lists Best at 13 North Bridge Road, #01-3984, Golden Beach Vista, Singapore 190013, and 1AP Capital at 10 Anson Road, #01-38A, International Plaza, Singapore 079903.[1] Best publishes Monday to Saturday hours of 11am to 7pm; 1AP Capital publishes Monday to Saturday hours of 11am to 8pm. Both say they are closed on Sundays and public holidays.[2][5]
If North Bridge Road works for you, ask Best about the next available appointment. If you travel through Tanjong Pagar late in the day, confirm 1AP Capital's hours directly before going. An online application does not replace the physical face-to-face identity verification required at a licensed lender's approved office before a loan is granted.[9]
Best describes starting through Singpass Myinfo, then visiting its North Bridge Road branch for the face-to-face identity verification required before a loan is granted.[12] 1AP Capital describes an online form or Singpass start, an in-principle response and a face-to-face contract step.[3] A form submission or preliminary response is not a guaranteed loan or a promise of when funds will arrive.
If you need money by a particular date, ask Best what documents and office steps remain and when disbursement could happen if approved. Ask the same of 1AP Capital. Use Singpass yourself; the Ministry of Law warns borrowers about requests for their Singpass credentials.[10]
Before you sign, put the first due date beside your pay date. After rent, food, transport and existing commitments, would the instalment still be manageable without relying on overtime? If not, ask about a smaller amount or take time to reconsider. The Ministry of Law advises borrowers to weigh their obligations and borrow only what they need and can repay.[10]
Ask Best to talk you through the proposed schedule, then decide whether it works for you.
Consider Best if you want to discuss the actual repayment before deciding
Best publishes a starting rate for eligible applicants, an application route and a commitment to explain costs and repayment before signing.[12][2] If its North Bridge Road office is practical for you, ask the team to show the assessed terms. The right reason to choose Best is that you understand and can manage your own written offer, not a claim that it is cheapest for everyone.
Consider 1AP Capital if its office hours make the visit easier
Its Tanjong Pagar location and published 8pm closing on Monday to Saturday may be useful if Best's office hours do not fit your day.[1][5] That may make 1AP Capital a practical option for someone who works or travels near Tanjong Pagar. Compare its written offer with Best's before signing.
Pause if neither repayment works
A convenient visit does not fix an instalment that crowds out essential expenses. You can ask questions, request clarification or decide not to borrow yet.
If you want a published starting rate to discuss and someone to explain your proposed repayment, Best may be worth considering. Its advertised 1.01% monthly (12.12% p.a.) starting rate applies only to eligible applicants and remains subject to assessment.[12] Then compare the assessed Best offer with 1AP Capital's written offer for the same amount and period. Its online example is not your final price.[3]
Reviews can help you think of questions. Your contract must answer them. Choose only a repayment you understand and can manage.
Read Best's personal-loan information and, if useful, try the loan calculator to prepare questions.[12][2] A calculator result is an estimate, not a loan offer. Contact Best through its official channel to ask about an assessment and an office appointment; an enquiry does not guarantee approval. Bring your proposed amount and ask what you would receive and repay.
Is 1AP Capital a licensed moneylender?
The Registry dated 1 September 2026 lists 1AP Capital Pte. Ltd. under licence 68/2026 and Best Licensed Moneylender Pte Ltd under 48/2026.[1] An older 35/2024 licence number remains on one 1AP webpage, while its contact page shows 68/2026.[3][5] Use the dated Registry to verify the current legal name, licence, address and website.
Are Best or 1AP Capital reviews enough to choose a loan?
No. Both display selected customer comments, which cannot tell you the interest rate, charges or repayment you will personally be offered.[2][4] Compare assessed written offers instead.
Is Best cheaper than 1AP Capital?
Best advertises from 1.01% per month (12.12% p.a.) for eligible applicants, subject to assessment.[12] 1AP Capital uses an assumed rate in its repayment examples and presents an individual APR after an application, so there is no like-for-like personal figure in those two website statements.[3] Compare written offers for the same amount and period, including fees, net payout and total repayable. We cannot declare a cheaper winner without those offers.
What if I reconsider after taking a new unsecured personal loan?
For a new qualifying unsecured non-business loan disbursed on or after 15 September 2026, the cooling-off period is three business days after disbursement; the disbursement day, weekends and Singapore public holidays do not count.[10][11] Cancellation is at reduced cost, not necessarily free. You repay the remaining principal disbursed after any upfront approval-fee deduction, plus up to the portion of that fee the lender is allowed to retain; no interest is charged under this framework.[10] Ask for the exact deadline, procedure and amount for your contract.
