Comparing Best (Best Licensed Moneylender Pte Ltd) with Friday Finance? A lower advertised rate is a reasonable place to start. Before choosing, though, find out what rate you qualify for and whether the repayments fit your month. If an administrative-fee refund catches your attention, check when you receive it and what you need to do to qualify.
Best Licensed Moneylender Pte Ltd publishes this article and is one of the lenders compared. This is not an independent review. Public lender information and Ministry of Law sources were checked on 13 September 2026. This is general information, not a personalised recommendation or a promise of approval.
Friday Finance may suit you if its assessed offer fits your budget and you can meet the conditions for its advertised admin-fee refund after full and timely repayment.[10] Best may suit you if its offered costs and repayment schedule work better for your circumstances, or North Bridge Road is easier for the required visit.[11][9]
There is no universal winner. A refund after repayment may be useful, but it does not reduce the instalments you need to manage along the way. Ask both lenders for the written terms before deciding which arrangement works for you.
It gives you a reason to look at the offer, not a complete answer. Friday advertises interest from 0.88% per month, subject to individual assessment.[2] Best advertises rates as low as 1.01% per month for eligible applicants, also subject to assessment.[11]
Friday's advertised starting rate is lower than Best's, but it is not the lowest advertised starting rate available. For example, PickMeALoan advertises partner-lender offers from 0.82% per month, with actual rates subject to lender approval and dependent on the applicant's profile.[12] PickMeALoan is a comparison platform, not the lender issuing the loan.[12]
Friday's 0.88% rate is likewise subject to individual assessment, and submitting an application does not guarantee approval.[2][3] The same principle applies to Best: a starting rate is not a personal offer, and approval depends on assessment and verification.[11]
Suppose you are considering the same borrowing amount with both lenders. Ask for offers over the same repayment period, then look at the rate you are actually approved for, the fees and the total repayment. If the periods differ, have that explained before deciding one is cheaper. A lower advertised rate does not establish the lowest total cost.
There is one detail to clarify with Friday. At our check, its page title showed different rate and fee figures from the visible product section.[2] Its homepage also used different fee wording.[10] The product section and FAQ described a tiered administrative fee capped at 10%.[2] Ask which terms apply to your application rather than treating a search headline as your quotation.
It may reduce the eventual cost if you qualify, but you still need to manage the repayment schedule before receiving it. Friday advertises a refund of 50% of the administrative fee after full and timely repayment, subject to terms.[10]
That distinction matters if your monthly budget is already tight. Money returned after the loan is repaid cannot cover an instalment due before then. Check that the repayments work without relying on that future refund.
Friday's FAQ says it does not charge for early repayment.[2] Its homepage also describes the rebate as available on early prepayment.[10] Those are benefits worth considering. Confirm how the conditions apply to your contract, including when the refund is paid and what happens if a payment is late.
The 10% fee ceiling is not a special allowance for Friday. Ministry of Law guidance permits a fee not exceeding 10% of the principal when a loan is granted; that ceiling applies to Best too.[6] Your actual fee still needs to be stated in the offer. Do not turn a conditional 50% refund into an assumed upfront 5% fee or a guaranteed saving over Best.
Ask both lenders to make these points clear:
How much will I receive after any deductions?
What interest and administrative fee will I actually pay?
What is each instalment, and when is it due?
What is the total repayment before any conditional refund?
What changes if I pay late or settle early?
Best's calculator can help you explore a budget, but its estimate is not an approval or a final quotation.[11] Use it to prepare questions, then check the written repayment schedule.
You can start online, but that is not the entire transaction. Best describes a Singpass Myinfo application for assessment.[1] Friday also describes a MyInfo application and an indicative offer after the necessary information is provided.[2]
The Ministry of Law requires physical face-to-face identity verification at the approved place of business before a licensed moneylender grants a loan. Fully online loan transactions are disallowed.[5]
An indicative offer is therefore a stage in the process, not confirmation that funds have been received. Ask what information you need and which steps remain before travelling.
If Friday's assessed repayment is affordable and the conditional refund is useful to you, it is worth considering. If Best's written offer fits your budget better, or North Bridge Road makes the required visit easier, Best may be the more suitable choice.
The September Registry lists Best at 13 North Bridge Road, #01-3984, Golden Beach Vista, Singapore 190013, and Friday's legal entity, IFS Consumer Services Private Limited, at 10 Eunos Road 8, #09-04, Singapore Post Centre, Singapore 408600.[9] Friday Finance is that company's trade name.[3] Check the current Registry before sharing information or visiting.
For someone whose route is closer to Eunos, Friday's office may be more convenient. For someone who can more easily reach North Bridge Road, Best may be simpler to visit. Neither location answers whether the repayments leave enough for rent, food and existing commitments.
Before accepting either offer, ask yourself whether you understand the total obligation and can meet the due dates without depending on uncertain income. If the answer is no, pause rather than using a lower headline or future refund to justify the loan.
Is Friday Finance a licensed moneylender?
Friday Finance is the trade name of IFS Consumer Services Private Limited.[3] The Ministry of Law's list dated 1 September 2026 lists that company under licence 85/2026. Best Licensed Moneylender Pte Ltd appears under licence 48/2026.[9] Check the current list before applying.
Is Friday Finance automatically cheaper than Best?
No. Its advertised starting rate is lower, but both rates depend on assessment.[2][11] Compare the actual offers for the same amount and tenure, including fees, total repayment and any refund conditions.
Does the refund mean I pay only a 5% admin fee upfront?
Do not assume that. Friday describes a tiered fee capped at 10% and a conditional refund after full and timely repayment.[2][10] Confirm the fee charged on your loan and the refund arrangements separately.
What if the repayment only works after I receive the refund?
Reconsider the commitment. The refund comes after repayment under the advertised conditions, not before each instalment is due.[10] The Ministry advises borrowers to consider their income and obligations and borrow only what they can repay.[6]
You can read Best's personal-loan information or use the loan calculator to prepare for a discussion.
Ask for the proposed costs and repayment schedule, including anything you do not understand. Then decide whether the offer fits your circumstances. An enquiry does not guarantee approval.[11]
